There are some films that bear watching many times over, and Luc Besson’s ‘The Fifth Element’ has been tested by a number of TV reshowings recently. With Chris Tucker and Gary Oldman taking on two of the gorgeously flamboyant character parts, this futuristic sci-fi adventure rests on the age-old story device of an approaching evil […]
It was wonderful to see the church decorated for Harvest Festival. A small team of volunteers had worked hard to make it look colourful and seasonal. At the service, Mary told us the story of Johnny Appleseed and asked us to perhaps emulate him as an example of sharing. We were pleased to see the […]
We are continuing to put our minds to how we can best serve the young people who have become ‘regulars’ at Trinity, and encourage others to join us, and have begun to take the first steps forward. We recently held a very positive meeting for anyone interested in this aspect of church life. We began […]
We had a very enjoyable concert on Saturday 15 July. Tea and cake was served to around 90 people before listening to a varied and polished performance of songs ranging from, ‘Bridge over troubled water’ to ‘It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing’…..all sung with obvious enjoyment which transferred to the […]
We held another of our popular quizzes. Around 50 people sat down to 10 rounds of 10 questions on various topics all ably led and controlled by Sheila. Part way through we refreshed and re-energised with fish and chips from a local chippy.
A group of around 17 people – young and not so young, plus dogs enjoyed each others company in a bracing walk along south Lowestoft promenade and beach front, from the South Pier to Pakefield. Afterwards we chatted over tea/coffee and cake at a seafront cafe. It is good to spend time in fellowship. There […]
It was uplifting to join with regular congregation and visitors to celebrate Easter. The church looked great. The flower arrangers – just one of the groups of volunteers who keep Trinity and it’s life running – had made some wonderful arrangements. There are some views below. Apologies for the quality of some of the photo’s […]
We must have been the most easterly methodists in the whole of the UK when we held our bracing Easter walk on 1 April. It was a time to journey together and then enjoy some tea and cake – a nice incentive :). We had our photos taken on Ness Point – the most easterly point […]
It was great to have a family service celebrating ‘Mothers’ (and Fathers). We were able to hand out posies to all thr congregation who wanted one. Then in one of the following week’s services we encouraged some of our young people (and others young in mind if not in years) to help cover Lazarus in […]

As well as joining in our services and events they hold […]
Happy New Year and special thank you’s to all those people who made Trinity such a special place over the Christmas period. As always the church looked terrific – beautifully decorated and welcoming. We were delighted to welcome friends old and new to the events and services. We had our annual Carol and Mince Pie event […]
All of the regular activities took place last week and in addition, the playgroup performed their traditional Nativity Play to a very appreciative audience of friends, family and church members, culminating with everyone singing ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas’. On Saturday the stewards held their monthly meeting discussing, amongst other things, all of the […]
Around 70 ‘quizzers’ sat down to 10 rounds of 10 questions. Ably led by our friend Sheila Blowers from Norwich. Half-way through we replenished energy levels with fish (cod) and chips, bread and butter, teas and coffees. A fun and friendly night – questions are always pitched so there are some easier ones, some more […]
It was lovely to celebrate Harvest with 8o friends and visitors followed by a ploughmans lunch for around 30 people. The church looked beautiful – decorated with produce, flowers and decorations by a small group of volunteers. All the produce was donated to the Food Bank. Amongst all the beloved traditional harvest hymns we also […]
On the first Saturday in September we had a very successful coffee morning and gift day where people chose their favourite bible verses and we looked through the new Bibles purchased with a generous legacy. We now have both the Good News version and the NRSV version to refer to. On the following Saturday a bring […]
During the last quarter, Trinity has again enjoyed a variety of events and worship. Around the time of the Queen’s 90th birthday, several groups held celebrations; the playgroup held a party, there was a garden party at the home of two of our members, raising funds to help with the general upkeep of the church […]
It was a huge pleasure to hold infant baptisms recently for two different families from our church family. As always it is great to welcome family and friends as well as hear and see the young people in church. At one of the services there was at least 31 children either engaged in appropriate craft […]
On Saturday, following a BBQ for family and friends of the young singers we were treated to a wonderful concert by ‘Singing Futures’ – our singing group of around 13 young people. A large and appreciative audience tapped feet and quietly, under their breath, sang along with the ever popular songs from this well known […]
Since the start of the year we have seen a small but encouraging increase in numbers attending services each week. Not least because we are joined by a number of friends from Harleston House across the way from the Church. It was a super to be able to join them and their friends plus a […]
Easter events this year reflected both sadness and joy. During each day of Holy Week we were led in a time of reflection, prayer and music as we sat around the foot of the cross. it was both spiritual and moving. It was also hugely pleasing to welcome church friends from other parts of the […]
It was great to see friends old and new at the Mothering Sunday service here on 6th March. As is the custom here at Trinity around 100 small posies of daffodils and greenery were distributed amongst the congregation. The posies were made by a small and enthusiastic team the previous day.
In early February a goodly number of us got together to share fellowship, a family film and a ‘bring and share’ meal. It was a new direction for us – we have historically had a New Year Party – however, the feedback has been positive and people have said we should do it again during the year. So, […]
As usual, Christmas was a very busy but rewarding time at Trinity. Beginning at the end of November with a Christmas Coffee Morning, where several super Christmas hampers were raffled off whilst warm fellowship took place amongst both regular worshippers and other visitors. Over the next couple of weeks many volunteers helped to decorate the […]
Please come and join us for some ‘crafty’ fun and see the Christingles being prepared.
On Sunday 1st November, known to some as All Saints Day and to others as All Souls Day, there was a short Service of Remembering in the afternoon at Trinity. The congregation of around 70 people included many of the families of people whose funerals have been led by Rev. C.Kennell and Rev. R. Soanes. […]
We were absolutely delighted to welcome David, Anne and Bob to help with our service on the 25th October. With a combination of piano playing (Rev Christine), Sax and Guitar (David), clarinet and piano (Anne) and Electric Guitar (Bob) plus their superb voices it was a real pleasure to have their input to the praise […]
It was with great pleasure over 60 ‘quizzers’ came together for an evening of fun and fellowship and not forgetting the fish and chips. There was a lovely mixture of ages and skills (!). All ably led by Sheila from Norwich who provided the 10 categories of 10 questions. The feedback was very positive and […]
It was lovely to welcome nearly 70 friends old and new to our Harvest Festival Service. People felt it was one of our biggest ‘collections’ of produce in many years – perhaps as we had used the Food Bank as the focus for our giving. The happy and lively service was followed by our Church […]
As we move through the Summer period work continues unabated at Trinity. Although congregations shrink slightly as people take well earned holidays we also welcome visitors as they join us for our services both at Trinity and at our sister church at Corton. We also have welcomed new worshippers and also said goodbye to some […]
It was a huge pleasure to welcome the National Methodist Youth Brass Band to Trinity. It was a very successful weekend, welcoming visitors from far afield to both the concert (around 140 people) and the Sunday Morning Service (around 120 people). It was a pleasure to hear both the music and the personal stories of […]
